RTBF footage on INA MEDIAPRO since 2013
Since 2009, Radio-Télévision belge francophone (RTBF) has entrusted the management of its archives to SONUMA, who is in charge of saving, digitising and promoting this unique heritage. In 2013, SONUMA joined forces with INA MEDIAPRO to expand the access to these extraordinary images. These audiovisual files come from broadcasts produced by the public broadcasting service since 1953. From Jacques Brel to Salvatore Adamo, from Annie Cordy to José Van Dam, from the Dardenne brothers to Benoît Poelvoorde, there is more than half a century of a rich and diverse Belgian cultural identity offered through interviews, chronicles and variety shows.
But this collective memory is also packed with meetings with artists passing through the flat country, actors, directors, literary greats, musicians such as Dizzie Gillespie or Miles Davis and groups such as Genesis or The Cure.
There is also a range of investigations and reports. Criminal cases, society-based issues, political dossiers, investigative magazines on all the national events having effects beyond the Belgian borders, not forgetting key reports on international issues which marked the 20th century. Many testimonies of the key moments of our time.
